Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is David Merrique and I'm a freelance illustrator / web designer / 3D modeler / whatever, and I welcome you to my Illustration portfolio.
I was born in Trinidad and lived there until the tender age of 8 when my family packed up and headed to New York. I've been living there ever since.
I studied Illustration at
ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITY
in Queens and graduated in 2010 with myBFA in Illustration
.My work is primarily digital, using Photoshop or Illustrator. I usually start off with a drawing that I scan and then take it away with Photoshop. You can see most of the preliminary drawings and sketches in the

section.Lately, I've been teaching myself 3D programs, such as ZBrush and Maya. It's extremely complicated, but I feel like I'm learning quickly. Check out my
